You are setting up a Vitextra web part and need to check a configuration step. Or you have noticed a new version number in the Download Center and want to understand what changed. Now you can bring our documentation into the conversation with your AI assistant.

The Vitextra Knowledge Base is available through Model Context Protocol (MCP). Connect a compatible assistant, ask your question, and let it search our published content and read the relevant pages before answering.

Documentation within reach of your assistant

MCP gives AI applications a standard way to work with external tools and information. For Vitextra, it provides access to the public content on our website: knowledge base articles, how-to guides, product pages, FAQ, glossary entries and blog posts.

The assistant can search for a topic, retrieve a page in full and use that material to explain a setting or walk through a documented procedure. Search results include source URLs, so you can ask for links and check the original instructions yourself.

This is useful when a question needs more context than a search result can provide. You might want a short explanation, a checklist for a particular task or a follow-up answer about a step you do not understand.

A practical example: understanding version numbers

Suppose you notice that Employee Directory has moved from version 6.1.7 to 26.10.5. You could ask:

Use the Vitextra Knowledge Base to explain why Employee Directory changed from version 6.1.7 to 26.10.5. Does this affect my license or the update procedure? Include the source.

The server can find our versioning article and return its full text to the assistant. That article explains the year.month.build format: 26.10.5 identifies the fifth build of October 2026. It also confirms that the numbering change does not affect existing licenses or the update procedure.

The assistant can then turn those details into a concise answer and link to Vitextra Product Versioning: How to Read Version Numbers.

The same conversation can continue with a more specific question:

Where can I check the version currently installed on my site?

The retrieved article covers that too, including the web part property pane and the tenant App Catalog.

How to connect

You need an AI application that supports remote MCP servers using Streamable HTTP. In its MCP connection settings, add:

  • Name: Vitextra Knowledge Base
  • Server URL: https://vitextra.com/mcp
  • Transport: Streamable HTTP, if your application asks you to choose one

The public endpoint does not require an API key or a Vitextra account. Your AI application may have its own requirements for enabling external connections.

After connecting, try:

Search the Vitextra Knowledge Base for product versioning, read the relevant article and summarize it with a link to the source.

The exact setup steps depend on your application. Once connected, make sure the Vitextra tools are enabled for the conversation.

What the connection can do

The server provides tools for searching published content, reading individual pages and listing Vitextra products. Search supports a language parameter and optional content-type filters, which help the assistant narrow a request to knowledge base articles, guides or product pages.

For everyday use, you do not need to know the tool names. Describe your task and ask the assistant to consult the Vitextra Knowledge Base before answering.

For example:

Find the installation instructions for Vitextra products for Microsoft 365 and turn them into a checklist. Link to the original guide.

Or:

Find the documentation relevant to my question, explain the steps and tell me if the documentation does not cover something.

Public documentation, with clear boundaries

This connection gives the assistant access to public Vitextra information. It does not connect to your Microsoft 365 tenant, inspect your installed web parts or change their settings. The exposed tools are read-only.

Your assistant still generates the answer, so source links matter. When following configuration instructions, open the referenced article and check that it applies to your product and environment. If the documentation does not resolve the question, contact our support team with the details.

Try it with your next question

Add https://vitextra.com/mcp to your compatible AI assistant and start with a question you would otherwise look up in our documentation.

Ask it to search, read and include the source. Our Knowledge Base can then become part of the conversation you are already having.
