Overview
Quick Filter is the fastest way to give SharePoint Server users a search box for their data. Add the web part to a page, connect it to a list or document library (2013, 2016, or 2019), and pick the columns to match against - that is the whole setup. A built-in reset button clears the filter and returns the full view in one click.
Because the entire experience is a single, familiar text field, users need no training at all, and the localized interface speaks their language out of the box.
Single Text Field
Quick Filter is a single text field that filters the data stored in a SharePoint list or document library by as many columns as you choose. One value typed by the user is matched against all of the selected columns at once.
That makes it ideal for pages where a full filter panel would be overkill: registries, contact lists, contract archives - anywhere people just want to type a fragment and see matching items.
Filter by Selected Columns
You decide which columns the filter searches. Choose specific fields such as ID, Name, or Title, and Quick Filter ignores everything else - including the content of documents and columns with irrelevant information.
This keeps results precise and predictable: users find items by the attributes that actually identify them, without noise from full-text matches.
Populate the Filter from a URL
Quick Filter can read its value from the page URL, so a link can open a list already filtered to the right items. Build links from other pages, emails, or navigation menus that lead users straight to a pre-filtered view.
It is a simple way to wire lists together and share focused selections without teaching anyone how to filter.

What is Quick Filter?

How is Quick Filter different from List Filter?
Quick Filter offers one text field that searches several columns at once and is ideal for fast lookups; List Filter offers 14 dedicated controls (date ranges, number ranges, people pickers, managed metadata, etc.) with AND/OR logic and Excel export for advanced filtering. Both are on-premises farm solutions and both connect to one list or library per web part.
Can I pre-fill the filter from a URL?
Yes. The filter value can be passed in the page URL query string, so you can create links that open a list already filtered. A Reset Filter button clears the current filter. The web part works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer.
Which SharePoint versions and languages are supported?
Quick Filter supports SharePoint Server 2013 (Foundation and Server), 2016 and 2019 and is not available for SharePoint Online. The interface is localized into 17 languages. Installation steps are in Install a Vitextra Product on SharePoint Server.
How is Quick Filter licensed?
Quick Filter is sold as a perpetual per-farm license: one license key per SharePoint farm, no expiration, and a free 14-day trial before purchase. A new license is needed only if the farm ID changes; offline activation is available — see Activate a Vitextra Product Offline.
