What kind of polls can I create with Quick Poll?
Quick Poll lets you add single-choice or multiple-choice polls to SharePoint Online pages and Microsoft Teams tabs without any code. Polls can be anonymous, can have start and end dates, can allow users to change their vote, and can show results before voting. The vote button text and the thank-you message are customizable. Where are the responses stored and is any API permission required?
Responses are stored in two automatically created SharePoint lists — Vitextra Quick Poll Questions and Vitextra Quick Poll Responses — on the site where the web part is added, so all data stays inside your tenant. No additional Microsoft Graph permissions or admin consent are needed. Anonymous polls store a technical key instead of user profile data. How are results displayed?
Results appear immediately after voting as a live chart that refreshes every 10 seconds. You can choose Bar, Column, Doughnut, Pie or Radar charts, show percentage labels, position the legend and adjust the animation. The poll inherits the color palette of the hosting site or Teams theme.
Why can't read-only users vote?
Site visitors with read-only access cannot write to the hidden responses list by default. To let them vote, stop permission inheritance on the Vitextra Quick Poll Responses list and grant Visitors the Contribute permission level. Polls pinned as Teams channel tabs need no change. Can I export poll results?
Yes. Results can be exported to an Excel workbook generated directly in the browser. The workbook contains a summary sheet and, for non-anonymous polls, a responses sheet with individual votes. In edit mode you can also close, reopen or delete a poll and select an existing poll when adding a new web part instance.
Is Quick Poll available for SharePoint Server 2016/2019?
No. Quick Poll is a modern SPFx web part for SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams only; SharePoint Server 2016 and 2019 are not supported. The interface is localized into more than 40 languages and automatically follows the site or Teams client language.
