# How to Update a Vitextra SPFx Solution in SharePoint Online

Step-by-step guide to updating an existing Vitextra SharePoint Framework (SPFx) solution: download the latest version from the download center, replace the .sppkg package in the App Catalog, deploy it, approve API access if needed and sync to Microsoft Teams.

This article describes how to update an existing Vitextra solution built on the SharePoint Framework (SPFx).

## Introduction

Vitextra offers a range of products for the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including ::SharePoint Online:: and ::Microsoft Teams::. These cloud-based solutions are updated regularly with new features, additional language support, and bug fixes, so it's worth keeping your Vitextra applications current in your environment.

This article walks you through the process.

💡 **Tip**
When a new version of a Vitextra application is available, a notification appears in the top-right corner of the client-side web part while it's in edit mode.

## Download

Visit the [download center](https://vitextra.com/en/downloads) to get the latest version of the product you want to update.

Extract the product's ZIP archive to a folder of your choice on your PC.

📝 **Note**
The applications are provided as a ZIP archive. Before installing, unzip the archive and use the **.SPPKG** file to upload the application to the ::App Catalog::.

## Deploy

Open your SharePoint App Catalog, go to **Apps for SharePoint**, and upload the extracted .SPPKG file to the library, replacing the existing one.

Once the new package is uploaded, SharePoint shows a confirmation dialog. Click **Deploy** to confirm:

📝 **Note**
If the new version requires API access that hasn't been granted yet, you need to approve it.
For details, see the [API Access section of the Installing a Cloud-Based Product article](https://vitextra.com/en/support/kb/10035#api-access).

## Sync to Teams (Optional)

If the application supports ::Microsoft Teams::, sync the updated solution with Teams.
Select the updated application in the SharePoint App Catalog and click **Sync to Teams** on the ribbon:
