Customizable Tiles
Create and customize tiles with the easy-to-use configurator. The Smart Tiles web part supports the official Microsoft 365 icons — more than 1,800 Fluent UI icons to choose from — so you can create exactly the tiles you need. Tile size, icon size, and font size are all adjustable.
Responsive Design
Smart Tiles supports a powerful flexbox grid to build a custom layout of your tiles. The twelve-column system, customizable internal margin, and indent between tiles make it possible to fit your corporate branding.
The web part also supports full-width sections on SharePoint Modern Pages, so your navigation can span the entire page when the design calls for it.
Rich Color Palette
Match your tiles to your intranet's look and feel with a rich color palette: 33 predefined colors plus six accent colors are available out of the box. Combined with the flexible layout options, the palette makes it easy to build a navigation panel that feels like a native part of your corporate design.

What happens if I add new users to my tenant and how does it affect my licensing?
We provide a tenant-wide subscription. It doesn't matter how many active users you have. All users are able to use the Smart Tiles web part without any limitations. Adding a new user or disabling or blocking one does not affect your license.
Can I install the Smart Tiles in SharePoint 2016 or 2019?
No. As of today, Smart Tiles can only be installed in the SharePoint Online environment. On-premises SharePoint is not supported. We are working on support for SharePoint 2019, but SharePoint 2010 and earlier versions will not be supported.
Can I use the Smart Tiles web part with a full width section on a SharePoint page?
Yes. Smart Tile supports a full-width column, so you can add it to any layout provided by SharePoint Modern Pages.
Where can I find all available icons?
You can use any official Fluent UI icon. There are over 1,800 icons available for your SharePoint site.
Is it possible to customize the color of the tiles?
Yes, you can only use one of the predefined 33 colors or one of six accent colors, depending on your SharePoint theme.

🚀 New features
- Audience targeting — show a tile only to selected SharePoint groups of the site or Microsoft Entra ID groups. Tiles without an audience stay visible to everyone; targeting hides the tile, it does not protect the link.
- Tile description — a short text shown under the title and in the tooltip. The new Show Descriptions setting turns it off.
- Background image — use your own picture as the tile background: enter a URL or pick an image from the document libraries of the site.
- Custom icon image — any image can replace the icon, next to the Standard, File type, App, Azure and Vitextra icon sets.
- Import & export — save the tiles to a JSON file and load them on another page or site with Replace all or Add to existing.
- More link types — tiles can open e-mail, phone, text message and Microsoft Teams links (
mailto:,tel:,sms:,msteams:). - Blur effect — a new Blur option in the Hover Effect list (0–20 px).
- Faster loading — visitors load about half as much code; the editing tools and the dialog viewer are loaded only when they are needed.
- Smoother hover effect — the effect is animated both when the pointer enters and when it leaves a tile, works on keyboard focus and respects the “reduce motion” system setting.
- Full-screen video — YouTube videos opened in a dialog can be switched to full screen, and the dialog fits narrow screens.
- SharePoint Framework 1.24 — the web part is built on the current SharePoint Framework and React 18.
